The rustic Mississippi blues-bar character of HOB belies its true nature. This is a live music venue with food, plain and simple. You're as likely to hear the newest rock and alternative sounds as you are traditional gospel and blues. That said, this is one of the best spots in LA for live music. If you come hungry, don't fret – there's a full menu of Southern-style classics, and several bars are scattered throughout, making your trip for a refill quick and painless. Sunday gospel brunch is a perennial family-friendly favorite.
